Central Ohio Veterinary Emergency

My dog was very ill and in distress on Dec 24th. My regular vet's office was closed for the Holidays. My vets office suggested calling Cove,Med Vet or OSU for emergency services.

When we arrived at the Cove office we were seen right away. My dog had chewed and ingested a portion of a camera strap the day before. She was very ill from vomiting and being severely dehydrated. They ran blood work, x rays etc. Meanwhile they hooked her up to IV hydration.

We were offered surgery but her prognosis was poor due to her stressed condition. We came to the sad but necessary decision that she should be humanely euthanized as she was suffering greatly.

I am so glad we went here vs the other choices. The staff receptionists, vet techs,vet were very all sympathetic and explained all of our choices. They knew how difficult the choices would be. My dog Star could have had surgery but she likely would not survive the surgery.

They did an autopsy free of charge and sent me a report. A long linear cord had completely shut down her bowel. There was no functioning at all of her digestive system. The vet Dr Violi call me that evening to give me the results of the autopsy.

I highly recommend the Cove if you need any emergency services for your pet. They are kind and compassionate. They are very through in exams etc. They have great communication skills to explain everything. It will take me a long time to recover emotionally for losing Star, she was such a sweet dog , but i know i will see her again in Heaven.

Amazing!! The whole staff is phenomenal! Our vet turned us away in the case of an emergency, we were at a loss and they took him in no questions. The care he received was incredible from the start. It truly felt like they treated him as if he was their own! Emergency care for a pet is super hard but they made my family feel like he was in good care. Highly recommended this place if ever needed.

We had a tough two weeks with our basset hound, and after 3 trips to our vet it was time to see an emergency clinic. Our vet recommended COVE (which we’d never heard of) and we had a great experience. Communication, transparency, and love all from the vet who worked with us and the techs. They took SUCH good care of us and it is absolutely more affordable than other emergency clinics. We kept our dog there for two nights and they have techs there all night with the dogs. I 100% would recommend this place if you have a veterinary emergency.

We went when they opened and our dog was seen immediately, we got multiple phone calls with updates and options. This was a much better experience than we anticipated with an emergency clinic.

Obviously taking your pet for emergency care is not easy, but the staff here are incredible! You can tell they genuinely love their job and made me feel at ease and comfortable. I was prepared to spend all day here, but we were immediately taken to a private waiting room and seen. They were able to diagnose her and get her medicine and it was very very affordable. An exam and two prescriptions for about $200, without insurance. Amazing! They followed up a week later to see how she was doing. I could not recommend enough!!!

They were amazing when his vet said they could not see him,. They told me to bring him right in.. Thank you so much! You kindness and compassion were just what we needed! I can not thank you enough! We loved Crosby for 14 years after he was adopted. You are amazing. We loved him and we miss him but are grateful for you guys!
