Companion Plants

Picked up a pre-ordered cake for Mother's day. Instructions said to head to pre-order pickup. There was no such place. Drive thru was backed up into the road. I went inside and got the cake right away. It was very good! White cake and strawberry dragonfruit ice cream.

Absolutely the best! Companion Plants is my favorite place in the world. The greenhouses are stuffed full of amazing herbs, the gardens seems to always be in bloom, the prices are so reasonable and the staff are the best people ever.

Went on a trip for Hocking college to this placed loved it! So many plants and the owner is very very well educated.

Great food, well prepared, quickly served, kind workers. Burger looks like the one on the menu board. Watch out competitors!

Wasn't sure what I was in for as the GPS lead me away from the highway. Arrived, and found Peter working in his greenhouse, which felt like a tropical paradise. Warm, bright, actual trees rooted in the ground inside. Some massive fig trees. And so many other interesting plants for sale.

He was also willing to talk plants with me a little and as I asked him questions about his specimens for sale, he showed me some of his hardy specimens outside around the greenhouse. Amazing place, and will try to stop by and browse more another time in the future.

Before this, I only knew them as a booth at the farmers market that I had bought from a few times years ago.

Picked out endemic plants for my alternative lawn. They had an even larger selection of medicinal plants which I know less about. The driveway is hard to see, the sign nearly tucked behind a bush, so drive slow when you think you're nearly there. Majority of plant stock are in small pots, early stages of growth, perennials. My picture is of the fewer larger containers.

Companion Plants is one of my favorite places in Athens. The owner is so knowledgeable and has such a wide variety of culinary, medicinal, and ornamental plants. Plants are labeled with a description, uses, and sun preferences. A great place to find native plants as well!
