Nether's Farm

Very surprised at the amount of gorgeous flint here! Was our first (but not last lol) visit and the experience was amazing! Ended up walking out with about 40 pounds of material. And at 50 cents a pound was a bargain! 7.50 per person to enter the pits. Rockhound dream!!

Found some really awesome stuff!! Worth the 6 hour drive for me haha. Would recommend if you want to find some pretty flint.

I absolutely love this place. The whole country area and small town, makes me feel at home. I enjoy the drive & gathering flint at Nethers is ever so peaceful. Mrs.Nethers is a nice lady. Price is $7.50 a gatherer & 0.50¢ a pound. Bags or buckets are weighed on the scale on her side porch. The Flint quarry is across the road from her white house. Cant miss it. I almost feel like this is my newest favorite hang out when free time arises. What an awesome simple place to visit in Ohio that I wish I knew about decades ago.

Great place to collect flint, $7.50 per person, $0.50 per pound of flint (as of time of this review, 10/2019). Swing by and let Mrs Nethers know you're heading in and stop by on the way out to pay. Zebra, red, white, blue, grey, tan, all kinds of gorgeous ohio flint. Mrs Nethers is very nice and friendly, and gave each of the kids a tumbled stone as well. Highly suggest if you're not familiar with flint harvesting that you wear boots, long pants, and shirt. Safety glasses and gloves are a must, slivers of flint are scalpel sharp and will slice through skin like a hot knife through butter. Tool wise highly suggest a rock hammer, chisel, sledge, pick, brush, 5 gallon bucket, and spray bottle pick if you wanna dig stuff up. There are hundreds of great pieces on the ground though if you're willing to spend the time sorting them.

Great place to collect chert. You can collect rock from the ground or dig from the open pits. $7.50 entrance fee. $0.50 per pound rock collected. Honor system if no one is home.
