We stayed at the Mohican Adventures campsite. It was very nice. There are multiple cabins you can stay at, as well as RV sites, tent sites with electricity out in the open or you can go more primitive and have sites up in the woods where you need four wheel drive to get up to. That is where we stayed. But there was also a bathroom with a light that stayed on all the time on the exterior so you could find your way to it. They were two stalls that had running water and flushing toilets and we're very clean and taken care of. Plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. The light came on automatically once you entered the bathroom. Would definitely recommend staying there again. There's also a 7 Mile and 15 Mile river tour you can take right across the street, also part of Mohican Adventures. They also have go-karts, ropes course, and Putt-Putt there. We have done the 7 Mile river trip three times this year and the 15 Mile river trip once. If you take the 7 Mile trip, there are multiple places you pull your watercraft right up to for beer, drinks, food, and bathrooms.
Challenging yet doable trails! We opted for the Gorge Overlook Trail & were not disappointed with the hike. The Gorge Overlook Trail is a 1.8-mile trek, with the beginning & end being steep. I recommend starting your hike on this trail from the furthest parking lot. It takes you to the left, where you will see the overlook point and can continue. I recommend starting here because that way, you aren’t climbing up the steepest point; instead - you go down it to the water & the hanging bridge at the beginning. Some parts of the path are narrow. There are bathrooms located at the overlook point, and since it is a loop, you can venture there before and after.
Happy Hiking!
Beautiful park! My husband brought me here when we were dating and still brings back memories. Love the gorge overlook, the bridge everything. We got our engagement photos taken here, helped a friend with a college project where she needed to take outside pictures of someone and I told her here is the best place to go!
Enjoyed the visit here. Park was nice and had a lot to offer as far as hiking and MTB trails. Trails are easy enough for anyone at any level to be able to enjoy them. Most hiking trails that we were looking at were under under 4 miles. The MTB trail was a bit of a challenge as it was a 23 mile loop with over 3k ft of elevation. My boyfriend completed it but warns that the map online does not state the correct amount of elevation gain.
Such a beautiful park! It was our first time exploring and loved it. It helped that it was a beautiful day too. This park has so much to offer! We hung out near the river, swung on the swings by the covered bridge and played in the creek beds for hours. So nice. Cannot wait to come back!
